Job Opportunity - OB/GYN Physician - Virginia
Start Date: May 1, 2026
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Housing/Travel: Lodging recommendations available; to qualified applicants
Schedule: Office hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with scheduled patients; 24-hour call coverage integrated into weekday schedule; 1 in 4 call rotation via secure scheduling system
Highlights:
- Collaborative practice environment with 4 physicians and 5 midwives providing comprehensive women's health services
- High-volume office setting with 25-30 scheduled patients per day; 90% low-risk pregnancy, 10% high-risk, 20% gynecology
- Full onsite support including lab, ultrasound, and dedicated one-on-one clinical staff per provider (CMA, LPN, RN)
- Level III NICU and Level 2 Trauma designation; EPC electronic medical record system
- Four-month locum assignment from May through August 2026 supporting physician medical leave coverage
- 3 exam rooms per provider with full OB/GYN equipment including fetal dopplers, colposcopy, and ultrasound capabilities
Requirements:
- MD or DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Active Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain prior to start date
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of application submission
- Proficiency in routine and complicated obstetrics procedures including vaginal delivery, C-sections, forceps delivery, VBAC, repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations, and management of high-risk cases
- Competency in gynecology procedures including office-based minor procedures (IUD placement, colposcopy, LEEP, cryosurgery) and surgical gynecology (laparoscopic and open procedures, tubal ligation, ectopic pregnancy management, ovarian surgery)
- Experience with low and high-risk pregnancy management, fetal heart rate interpretation, OB ultrasound performance and interpretation
- Local or regional candidates preferred; mileage reimbursement provided
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is 120 days following submission
