Job Opportunity - OB/GYN Physician - Richmond, Virginia
Start Date: May 1, 2026
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Housing/Travel: Lodging recommendations available; to qualified applicants
Schedule: Office hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with scheduled patient visits; 24-hour call coverage included with weekday office schedule
Highlights:
- Locum to Permanent opportunity with established OB/GYN practice through August 31, 2026
- Collaborative team environment with 4 physicians and 5 midwives providing comprehensive care
- Average patient volume of 25-30 scheduled patients per day with 1:4 call ratio
- Full support including one-on-one clinical staff per provider (CMA, LPN, RN), 3 exam rooms per provider, onsite lab and ultrasound
- Practice mix: 90% low-risk pregnancy, 10% high-risk pregnancy, 20% gynecology cases
- Access to Level III NICU and Level 2 Trauma designation; EPC electronic medical record system
Requirements:
- MD or DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in OB/GYN
- Active Virginia medical license or willingness to obtain
- BLS and ACLS certification current
- Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of application
- Must be local to the Richmond area; mileage reimbursement provided
- Proficiency in required obstetrics procedures including low-risk pregnancy management, FHR interpretation, OB ultrasound interpretation, and Level I screening ultrasounds
- Labor and delivery skills: routine vaginal delivery, low forceps, C-section decision-making and performance, breech delivery, multiple births, VBACs, and repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
- Gynecology procedural competency: office procedures (IUD, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP), and surgical gynecology including open and laparoscopic procedures
